Mackenzie Saylors is a flutist based in Memphis, Tennessee, and an undergraduate student at the University of Memphis. Mackenzie started playing flute at the age of nine and has been in love with it ever since.
As a chamber musician, Mackenzie performs in the University of Memphis’s undergraduate scholarship Magnolia Wind Quintet. In this group, Mackenzie has performed a concert of world premieres by new composers. The quintet serves the local Memphis community, with Mackenzie performing and helping organize educational concerts for young children, fundraising concerts for nonprofit organizations, and school recruitment visits.
As a soloist, Mackenzie has won the 2025 Beethoven Club of Memphis Young Artist Competition and placed in several other local solo competitions. As an ensemble member, Mackenzie has performed at the 2024 CBDNA/NBA Southern Division Conference and with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
Mackenzie’s primary teacher is Elise Blatchford.
